〈Piece by piece〉 전시에 가져간 원화입니다. 첫 전시였기에 '과연 팔릴까?' 궁금했는데, 앞으로 더 많이 작업하라는 응원의 메시지인 듯 거의 모두 팔렸어요. 액자에 넣은 원화도, 작은 종이 그림에도, 모두 작품보증서를 만들어서 전달했습니다.
왜 이 그림을 골랐는지 물어봤을 때 다 이유가 달랐지만, 각자 자기가 좋아하는 이야기가 담겨있을 때 끌린다는 것도 알게 되었습니다. 제가 좋아하는 마음과 여러분이 좋아하는 마음이 연결되었을 때, 무언가 에너지가 생기는 것 같아요. 감사하는 마음으로 계속 작업하겠습니다.
These are the original works I brought to the 〈Piece by piece〉 exhibition. Since it was my first show, I wondered — will any of them actually sell? But almost all of them found new homes, which felt like a message of encouragement to keep making more. I made a certificate of authenticity for every piece — for the framed originals and the small paper drawings alike.
When I asked people why they chose a particular piece, everyone had a different reason. But I came to understand that what draws someone in is finding their own story inside a work. When the things I love connect with the things you love, something like energy seems to come alive. I'll keep making work, with a grateful heart.
