I participated with gouache paintings in an exhibition held at the independent bookstore Calling Books, themed around the mandarin orange. The show brought together a research essay on mandarins, beautiful photographs, a bag inspired by mandarin baskets from Seogwipo, and various objects connected to mandarins and Jeju collected by Calling Books. I observed the mandarin tree as it grew, and painted three works depicting the journey from small green fruit to fully ripened yellow.
