귤로부터, Issu de la mandarine : CALLING BOOKS, 2024
독립서점 콜링북스에서 '귤'을 주제로 열린 전시에 과슈 그림으로 참여했습니다. 귤에 대한 취재 원고, 귤을 담은 아름다운 사진, 서귀포의 귤 바구니에서 영감을 얻은 가방, 콜링북스가 모아온 귤과 제주에 얽힌 것들이 모여 작은 전시가 되었습니다. 저는 귤 나무의 귤이 열리기 까지의 모습을 관찰했고, 초록 열매일 때부터 노랗게 익을 때까지의 과정을 3점의 그림으로 그렸습니다.
I participated in an exhibition themed around "oranges" at the independent bookstore Calling Books with gouache paintings. The exhibition featured a variety of works, including articles on oranges, stunning photographs, a bag inspired by a basket of oranges from Seogwipo, and other pieces curated by Calling Books that reflect the charm of oranges and Jeju. For my contribution, I observed the growth process of oranges on a tree, capturing the journey from green fruit to ripe, golden oranges in a series of three paintings.

콜링북스에서 첫 전시를 열게되었습니다. 좋아하는 작은 서점에서 전시를 준비하기위해 그동안의 작업들을 모아놓고 보니, 조금씩 서서히 무언가를 만들고 있는 저를 발견했어요. 그래서 전시 제목도 piece by piece로 지었습니다. 콜링북스의 지나님이 전시를 준비하면서 저에게 질문해주신 인터뷰 내용을 콜링북스 뉴스레터에 실었습니다. 그 내용을 여기에서도 공유합니다.
My first exhibition was held at Colling Books. When I collected all the work I had done to prepare for the exhibition at my favorite small bookstore, I found myself slowly making something. So, I named the exhibition "piece by piece."
As Jina of Colling Books prepared for the exhibition, she published some of the interviews she asked me in the Calling Books newsletter. I share that here as well.
